New Release – Moving Images From Before Your Quiet Eyes Publishing
Press Release
Before Your Quiet Eyes Publishing is pleased to announce the release of MOVING IMAGES: Poetry Inspired by Film, a collection of 140 poems by 91 poets from around the world co-edited by Jennifer Maloney and Bart White.
“From superheroes and horror films to sci-fi and the classics, Moving Images is an anthology of poetry dedicated to our love of movies and our relationships with the characters and their stories. These poets relate to films in new and unexpected ways, including personal and vulnerable moments using persona and metaphor for self-expression of tough topics alongside the more lighthearted and nostalgic. The collection swerves its readers in many ways with its wide variety of poetic forms and films spanning history to inspire poets and film-lovers alike. Perhaps poetry is just what we need to create our next watch list.”
—Trish Hopkinson, author of Footnote
“At last, a book for the poet in the filmmaker’s soul and for the filmmaker who whispers visions into the poet’s ear. Those of us who are neither can sink into this verbal, visual feast and not climb out until we’re good and ready! A wonderful achievement.”
—Gary Earl Ross, Edgar Award-winning author of Matter of
Intent, and the Gideon Rimes mysteries
