There is Still Time to Register for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event scheduled for September 11, 2021

Ontario County Department of Sustainability and Solid Waste Management, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County, Casella Waste Management, and NYS DEC are hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on September 11, 2021, at the Farmington Highway Department on 985 Hook Road, Farmington. The event is from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

To register: Call Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County at 585-394-3977 x 427 to schedule a time. Time slots are every 15 minutes.

Materials accepted: Acids, adhesives, aerosols, batteries, car stuff (antifreeze, oil, dry gas, gasoline, etc.), cements, charcoal lighter, chlorine, cleaners, gardening supplies (pesticides, herbicides, etc.), oil based paint only, paint supplies (thinners, removers, strippers, etc.), wood polishes, stains, preservatives, products containing mercury, LED lightbulbs and florescent light tubes.

Materials NOT Accepted: LATEX PAINT (open lid to dry out or add kitty litter to it, then put it in your regular trash). Tires, electronics, compressed gas cylinders, medicines, freon containing devices (air conditioners and dehumidifiers).
