BYRNES & BORRELLO HONOR NORTH DANSVILLE VETERANS
Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes (R,C-Caledonia) and Senator George Borrello (R,C,I,LIBT – Sunset Bay) are proud to announce that signs are now up designating a portion of State Route 63 in the Town of North Dansville as the “North Dansville Veterans Memorial Highway”. This honors the service and sacrifice of our veterans. The lawmakers worked jointly to sponsor and pass the bill through the state Legislature.
“With Memorial Day approaching, we are so proud to be able to offer this gesture of thanks and appreciation,” said Byrnes. “We will not forget our veterans, and this was just another way our community could say thank you for their courage, sacrifice and contribution to our nation.”
“Every one of our veterans deserves our deepest appreciation,” said Sen. George Borrello. “They exemplify everything it means to be an American – service, dedication, and sacrifice for the greater good, humility, and patriotism. Designating this portion of highway shows them our gratitude and how much we value all that they have given for our great state and nation.”
The state lawmakers worked together with the North Dansville Town Board, which had adopted a formal resolution in 2018 requesting such a designation. The state legislation was drafted and passed in 2020. The signs have now been posted by the state Department of Transportation.
