The Arts Council for Wyoming County (ACWC) invites writers, teenage and adult, to come read, dance, drum, stomp, or shout your poetry on Saturday, April 24! In celebration of Poetry Month, ACWC Marketing and PR Specialist Allison Hamilton will be hosting an open mic at the Biblio-Tech Café.
The event is free and you can either join the jam in person at Biblio-Tech Café located 2 South Main Street in Perry, NY or by Zoom. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, reservations are required and social distancing protocols will be observed. Make your reservations now for one of the two sessions: 6:30 – 7:30 or 7:30 – 8:30 pm, or request the Zoom link at the email below. Each poet will be given a 5 minute time slot to read their work and we encourage poets to write on our 2021 theme ‘Broken’.
Musical guest Elise Kelly will join us via Zoom. There will be door prizes and the presentation of the Abby Sparling Poetry Competition Awards.
Individuals are also invited to submit by email one original poem related to our 2021 theme, “Broken,” by April 17. Email your original poem with the subject heading: BROKEN POETRY CONTEST to pr@artswco.org to be entered in the contest.
