The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is preparing construction documents for Phase 2 of a Multi-use Trail in the Quaker Run area of Allegany State Park. The first phase (now complete) is 1.7 miles long and stretches along ASP Route 3 between the Taft Cabin and the Quaker Store. The proposed Phase 2 portion will extend approximately 3.6 miles from the Quaker Store to Quaker Lake. The overall trail was included in the 2010 Final Master Plan/EIS to ultimately provide a connection between Science Lake and the Quaker Lake Bathhouse. The project is dependent on funding approval. OPRHP will hold a public information webinar to provide details on the scope of work and offer the public an opportunity to comment. The webinar is scheduled on December 17, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Deadline to register is December 11, 2020.
