Owl Vision 2017
Community Voices
Owl Light News is looking for writers to share their “community voices” through written words. This theme can be widely interpreted beyond a more traditional idea of community, from one person to an entire species, from close to home or around the world.
We are looking for new ideas that surprise and enlighten.
Guidelines for Submission:
All literary formats are acceptable (fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, lyrics, script, graphic literature or …).
Submitted fiction and nonfiction works must be 1000 words or less and can be sent in doc., docx or pdf (poetry and graphics should be in pdf). Text (unless embedded in a graphic) should be in Times or a similar font, double-spaced with wide (1”) margins on all sides. Pages should be numbered and the title should be included in the heading on all pages.
Poets may submit up to three poems (less than 1000 words total). Poetry should be single spaced.
The last page of all entries should include ONLY the title(s) name, e-mail and phone number of the writer. Do not put your name or any other identifying material on other pages. The last page will be removed and the entries will be read “blind” by a group of area writers.
Submissions should be e-mailed with “Owl Vision” as the subject to
editor@canadicepress.com no later than July 28, 2017 at midnight.
Selected entries will be published in the August 11, 2017 “Owl Vision” edition of the Owl Light News.
