Dual Art Exhibitions To Open On The Spring Equinox, March 20th. “Sunlight & Shadows” And “Coming Out Of The Dark,” By Rachel Ortiz
Mount Morris, NY – The Genesee Valley Council on the Arts announces dual art exhibitions to open on the Spring Equinox, March 20th. “Sunlight & Shadows” showcase features the cross-disciplinary mediums from local artists celebrating the solar eclipse in their own styles alongside the solo exhibition “Coming Out of The Dark,” by Rachel Ortiz. Taking another approach to darkness, this body of work highlights the artist’s path of healing through art from military trauma.
Ortiz aims to give back to the community, therefore her proceeds from art sales goes to benefit the houseless in our community. Donations for personal hygiene products, food gift cards, socks, and small non-perishable food items for resource bags and given to the houseless accepted at GVCA throughout the exhibition.
“Sunlight and Shadows” and “Coming Out of The Dark” will be open to the public from March 20th to April 8th. The opening will take place from 5pm to 7pm with a closing celebration on April 8th from 1pm to 4pm for a family-friendly event and viewing the eclipse.
