A Letter re: Action
Seneca Lake Guardian Continues Environmental Preservation Initiatives in 2024
Dear Friends,
A Happy New Year to All. We’re hitting the ground running in January!
We have been informed that the Seneca Meadows Landfill is trying to get resolutions of support for its expansion in every Town in Seneca County. They were successful in getting a resolution of support from the Town of Varick last month, and aim to get more this month.
We need all hands on deck to counter this effort. If you live in or own property in Seneca County, or know someone who does, please get the word out and show up at the next Town Board meetings listed below. If you can’t be there in person, please send them an email (let us know if you need email addresses and talking points!).
Our aim is to get NO MORE supporting resolutions from Seneca County, but even better, let’s work to get Resolutions in OPPOSITION, instead. We will gladly guide you with talking points, a sample email to send, and a sample resolution opposing the landfill’s expansion. Just send us an email to this address senecalakeguardian@gmail.com and we’ll reply with guidelines!
To quote the wonderful Dr. Seuss: “Don’t Be A Shirker! Get Everyone Out” for this important effort.

All donations are tax-deductible.
