John Dady has been singing his way into our hearts since the 1970’s when he and his brother Joe produced their first album as “The Dady Brothers”. Many more albums followed, along with thousands of concerts and songs throughout the eastern United States and across to Ireland. John and Joe brought their brotherly harmonies and adept command of a variety instruments to appreciative audiences young and old. In 2020, The Dady Brothers were chosen to be inducted in the Rochester Music Hall of Fame.
Since Joe’s untimely death in 2019, John has continued the tradition performing solo or with a number of accomplished musician friends. He returns to Little Lakes Community Center for a Christmas show on December 9th, accompanied by John Michael Ryan on penny whistle and button accordion. For this performance, he will also be joined by mandolin virtuoso Perry Cleveland, local legendary “bassoligist” Gary Holt, and the incomparable Al Keltz on electric and pedal steel guitar. All are well-known in the local music scene and to the finger Lakes area.
Accompanying himself on upside-down, left-handed guitar and ukulele, John’s vast repertoire of songs includes original compositions, Irish and American Folk songs, popular tunes from the Big Band era to the Beatles and the Band, and the list goes on. He tailors each performance to foster a personal connection with his audience and that connection is evident at every show.
