Annual Tasting Fundraiser
Thank you to the Association for the Preservation of Geneseo (APOG) for supporting two SUNY Geneseo Anthropology graduates, Bradd Boyce and Fiona Shackleton, at the Livingston County Museum this summer.
LCHS recently acquired a collection from the Dixon Hollow site located near Hemlock Lake, bordering Livingston and Ontario Counties. SUNY Geneseo professor, Dr. Kristi Krumrine, conducted the
archaeological excavation and historical research from the years 2003-2010.
While the 40 boxed collection has been well-organized by location, Bradd and Fiona continue to process the collection by artifact type (i.e. ceramic, glass, metal, personal item, etc.) and will input significant artifacts into the Museum database in order to better understand the
collection and, by extension, the individuals who occupied the site.
