The Livingston County Drug Task Force reports multiple arrests following investigations into the sale of cocaine and methamphetamine in Livingston County.
The investigations were conducted in the Town and Village of Mount Morris, as well as the Village of Nunda. Five individuals were arrested as a result of the investigations.
Luis A. Santos, age 26 of Mount Morris NY, was arrested on December 21, 2021 by members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. Santos was charged in a Livingston County Superior Court indictment with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (a class B felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (also a class B felony). The arrest culminated an investigation by the Livingston County Drug Task Force into the sale of cocaine in the Town of Mount Morris.
Santos was transported to the Livingston County Jail and turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Santos was later arraigned on the indictment warrant in Livingston County Court by Judge Jennifer Noto and released on his own recognizance in accordance with the NYS Justice Reform Act. Santos was provided a future court date to answer the charges.
Demerese Giles, age 34 of Nunda NY, was arrested on December 23, 2021 by members of the Nunda Police Department. Giles was charged in a Livingston County Superior Court indictment with two counts Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (class D felonies) and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (also class B felonies). The arrest culminated an investigation by the Livingston County Drug Task Force into the sale of Methamphetamine in the Village of Nunda.
Giles was transported to the Livingston County Jail and turned over to Central Booking Deputies for pre-arraignment detention.
Giles was later arraigned on the indictment warrant in the Livingston County Court by Judge Jennifer Noto, and released on his own recognizance in accordance with the NYS Justice Reform Act. Giles was provided a future court date to answer the charges.
Diamond L. Jackson, age 59 of Mount Morris NY, was arrested on December 21, 2021 by members of the Mount Morris Police Department and members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. Jackson was charged in a Livingston County Superior Court indictment with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (class B felonies) and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (also class B felonies). The arrest culminated an investigation by the Livingston County Drug Task Force into the sale of cocaine in both the Town and Village of Mount Morris.
Jackson was transported to the Livingston County Jail and turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Jackson was later arraigned on the indictment warrant in Livingston County Court by Judge Kevin Van Allen and released on his own recognizance in accordance with the NYS Justice Reform Act. Jackson was provided a future court date to answer the charges.
Derrick E. Smith, age 23 of Avon NY, was arrested on January 3, 2022 by members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. Smith was charged in a Livingston County Superior Court indictment with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (a class B felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (also a class B felony). The arrest culminated an investigation by the Livingston County Drug Task Force into the sale of cocaine in the Town of Mount Morris.
Smith was transported to the Livingston County Jail and turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Smith was later arraigned on the indictment warrant in Livingston County Court by Judge Kevin Van Allen and released on his own recognizance in accordance with the NYS Justice Reform Act. Smith was provided a future court date to answer the charges.
Cameron Schuler, age 19 of Rochester NY, was arrested on January 4, 2022 by members of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. Schuler was charged in a Livingston County Superior Court indictment with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (a class B felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (also a class B felony). The arrest culminated an investigation by the Livingston County Drug Task Force into the sale of cocaine in the Town of Mount Morris.
Schuler was transported to the Livingston County Jail and turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Schuler was later arraigned on the indictment warrant in Livingston County Court by Judge Kevin Van Allen and released on his own recognizance in accordance with the NYS Justice Reform Act. Schuler was provide a future court date to answer the charges.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented all five arrestees at the court arraignments for their defense. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office appeared to represent the people at all of the arraignments.
