New grant, tools for manufacturing training
A new source of grant funds has made it possible for FLCC to offer its certified manufacturing training program free of charge to anyone 18 or older.
FLCC will offer its 16-week certified production technician (CPT) course on Jan. 24 at the Bloomfield Operations Center Learning Lab at 1 Oakmount Avenue and the Yates County Workforce Development Office at 417 Liberty St. in Penn Yan.
The course meets Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a lab one Saturday per month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Labs include experience with virtual reality visors to provide scenarios of real-world manufacturing settings.
The course is open to those 18 and over looking to enter the manufacturing field, which can provide stable employment, benefits and opportunity for advancement.
