Holiday Concerts at FLCC
The Finger Lakes Chorale, a community chorus based at FLCC, will resume its tradition of holiday concerts on Dec. 11 and 12 at 3 p.m. at the main campus.
Entry is free, and due to the popularity of Chorale concerts, the college would like to open its auditorium to full capacity. As a result, FLCC will require a government-issued ID and proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a recent negative test for COVID-19. In addition, all visitors must wear masks that cover the nose and mouth.
Visitors must present the New York Excelsior Pass or the original vaccination card or a photo of the card showing immunization dates for COVID-19.Those who wish to submit a test must show results of a negative antigen test (rapid test) taken within 6 hours of the performance start time or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time. COVID-19 tests must be administered by an official testing center. Self-administered tests will not be accepted.
Selections include “White Christmas,” “Hanukkah Shalom,” and Rosephanye Powell’s “I Dream a World.” Chorale will also perform works by John Rutter: “Nativity Carol,” “A Clare Benediction” and “Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind.”
The Chorale currently consists of 45 singers. New members are welcome to join in late January to rehearse for spring concerts; vaccination is required to participate in FLCC on-campus classes and activities.
While entry is free, the Chorale accepts donations for scholarship funding for FLCC music and music recording students. For information, contact the director, Ines Draskovic, associate professor of music, at Ines.Draskovic@flcc.edu.
