Peace Officer Graduation

GENESEO – Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty advises of the recent Peace Officer graduation of several Deputies.

Deputy Alana Blakemore, Deputy Larry Small and Deputy Ryan Damboise completed the nine (9) week Corrections/Peace Officer Academy held by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office in Seneca County.

During these nine weeks, the attendees studied topics such as Essential Services, Effective Communications, Suicide Prevention, 1st Aid/CPR, Use of force, Firearms Training, Defensive Tactics and Reality Based training. These topics are all conducted through class room instruction and
hands on practice. The skills learned are tested through both written and practical examinations for successful graduation and certification.
