Our mom worked as a waitress for her entire life, and any extra money during her retirement went to her cat “Sweet Tea” and to books. When she died in 2019, she had asked that once final expenses were taken care of that the remaining money go to the Broome County Humane Society (the county where she was born and grew up). When I forwarded that, I also offered to post a monthly pet in need of a home (mom would have liked that).

Our first posted pet was Meema, in the December issue. We will post pets here each month (as well as in print), and may be willing to expand this to include other pets in need of that perfect place to call home.
