#MYTwinkle2020 to Shine Brightly in Canandaigua
Residents urged to decorate boldly and tour safely
Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce is hosting #MYTwinkle2020 in partnership with the Canandaigua Business Improvement District and residents of the City and Town of Canandaigua.
“MYTwinkle2020 is a way for each of us to be a Little Star,” says Ethan Fogg, President & CEO of Canandaigua Chamber. “By boldly decorating your home, office or home-office, you’re challenging the darkness we’re all feeling with something beautiful and bright.”
Many communities including Canandaigua are experiencing the cancelation of traditional holiday festivities in light of the ongoing pandemic, yet individuals are hungry for safe activities and holiday cheer. Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, the Chamber and the BID are encouraging residents to decorate their homes and businesses, and tour the community after sunset – whether on the way to grab takeout dinner, on the way home from work, while holiday shopping downtown or just getting the family out of the house.
It’s easy to be part of #MYTwinkle2020. There’s no fee, no registration, no deadline for entry. “Even if you’re not big on decorating, put on your porch lights and go for a drive,” says Fogg, of the community-wide impact of festive decorations, “and post pictures on your favorite social media platform, using the hashtag #MYTwinkle2020”
#MYTwinkle2020 will run from November 27 through December 31, “so we can end this year on a bright note.”
Decorate. Drive around. Post. Repeat. #MYTwinkle2020 will make you a Little Star, too.
