Let’s Talk About Beep!

Hello Fellow Readers,
I am excited about BEEP a Little Lakes One Read. In case you are new to this, a One Read is a chance for many people in a community (and beyond-I did a Dublin One Read selection of The Coroner’s Daughter, which I recommend) to read a single book (on their own) and then join in a community discussion.
The novel is about an insightful monkey named Beep, and a girl, and, well, I will let you read it to learn more. Copies are available across the Little Lakes Region in libraries and bookstores.
I will be hosting a discussion at Little Lakes Community Center, Main Street, Hemlock, NY on March 18th! In the meantime, I am opening this format up to discussion and hope to hear from other readers about Beep….and I hope to see folks on the 18th too!
D.E. Bentley (Darlene)
Bill Roorbach, author of Beep, will be at Little Lakes Community Center on Sunday, April 6.

What I most loved about the story of Beep is Roorbach’s creation of a language for Beep (including his perspectives on the humans he encounters). That, and the way he and his human girl gradually find a way to communicate.
